Ralph Edward Campbell Sr., 78, of Mt. Zion, passed away after a courageous battle with many medical issues at Camden-Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg, on April 11, 2024.
He was born in Philippi, on Sept. 21, 1945, a son of the late Harvey and Vernie Overfield Campbell.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving companion, Mary Reed, as well as siblings, Pete Campbell and Sarah Gilchrist.
He retired from the Town of Grantsville after 24 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Ralph is survived by children, Ralph “Eddie” Campbell Jr. (Rebecca) and Theresa Cain (Eric Blake); grandchildren, Chrissy, Damien and Maddie Campbell and Kaleb and Amelia Cain; also, Brien, Austin, Stephen and Carson McCormick; and nieces and a nephew. In addition to his grandchildren, he is survived by Mary Reed’s son, Bryan Reed, and his children, Brandon, Jamie, Keith and Kayla Reed.
A funeral service will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Grantsville, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, with the Rev. Tim Davis officiating. Visitation will be held 1-2 p.m. Interment will be in Barbour Memorial Cemetery, Philippi, at 5 p.m.
