Millard Hawkins

Millard Wade Hawkins, 84, of Kingwood, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, at his residence. He was born on Aug. 13, 1939, in Kingwood, son of the late Glenn Harold and Ruby Blanche (Fortney) Hawkins.

Millard worked as a truck driver for Marquette Cement at Greenbag and then Decker’s Creek Limestone and retired in 1990. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, horses, watching and feeding the birds, tinkering, walking his dog Charlie, and was a West Virginia Mountaineer Fan. He loved spending time with family, especially the grandkids and great grandkids.

Millard is survived by his wife, Charlotte Ann (McGilton) Hawkins; two daughters, Robin (Hawkins) Goodwin of Kingwood, Darla (Hawkins) Calvert and Bobby of Cheat Lake; two step-sons, Mike Casino and companion, Pam Melchek, and Kevin Casino and Angie of Kingwood; one daughter-in-law, Becky Hawkins of Slanesville; 16 grandchildren, Kassie Hawkins and Jesse, Providence of Rhode Island, Malorie Scott and Aaron of Burlington, Ethan Hawkins and Rhonda of Paw, John Wes Goldstrom and Amelia, Reedsville, Craig Goldstrom and Michelle of Reedsville, Colby Goldstrom and Emily of Reedsville, and Cory Goldstrom of Reedsville, Dillon Robert Goodwin and Nicole of Kingwood, Landan Brock Goodwin of Kingwood, Tabitha Rynn Clark and Miles of Kingwood, Logan Brooke Robertson and Christopher, Mooresville, N.C., Katie Elaine Colley and Logan “Lumpy,” of Morgantown, Jordan Gage Robinson and Ben of Fairmont, Lexie Morgan Goodwin and companion, Wyatt Shafer of Kingwood; Ashton Britton of Fairmont, and Brynlea Cosino of Kingwood; 24, great-grandchildren, Tyler, Sarah, Lakin, Jaxon, Elijah, Watson, Gabriel, Jacqueline, Brooks, Lila, Beau, Caleb, Cameron, Avery, Brenda, Lorelai, Domonique, Caroline, Rumyana, Bailey, Peyton, Walker, Chelsey and Carley; one sister, Beverly (Hawkins) Ellifritz; and several nieces and nephews.

Millard was preceded in death by one son, Richard “Rick” Wade Hawkins; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Hawkins; one son-in-law, Robert “Bobby” Goodwin Jr; two brothers, Herbert Harold Hawkins Sr, and Leonard Wayne Hawkins; one sister, Emmalee Jane (Hawkins) Sanders.

Family and friends will be received at Kingwood Funeral Home from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21, and on Thursday, Feb. 22, from 9 a.m. Until the time of service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Bethlehem Cemetery. Kingwood Funeral Home is honored to serve the Hawkins family.
