John Edwin Snyder, age 65, of Kingwood, passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, in Morgantown, with his family by his side. He was born Sept. 1, 1958, a son of the late Melvin Claud and Mary Joan (Griffith) Snyder. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Marie (Bowins) Snyder.
John was a 1976 graduate of Kingwood High School; he was employed as a maintenance electrician for Mon Heath Preston Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the Muddy Creek Sportsman Club and loved fishing and golf.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his stepmother, Ann Snyder of Chicago, Ill.; two sons, Jonathon Edwin Snyder of Kingwood, and Justin Michael Bowins of Alabama; one daughter, Kaitlin Marie Ulrich of Ohio; two brothers, Melvin Claude Snyder, III, and wife Mary Ellen, and Geoff Norcross of Oregon; one sister, Gwendolyn "GiGi" Willems; and several nieces and nephews.
At his request cremation services will be accorded by Kingwood Funeral Home and Cremation. Friends will be received at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7, a memorial service will began at 4 p.m., at the funeral home, with Rev. David D. Spence officiating.
