The West Virginia Women’s Commission (WVWC) announced that registration is open for the 2024 Women’s and Girls’ Day at the Legislature.
The event will be from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday at the West Virginia Culture Center in Charleston.
The theme for the 2024 Women’s and Girls’ Day at the Legislature is “Girls Who Dream Become Women with Vision: Giving Voice to the Next Generation.”
The event will concentrate on actively engaging in the legislative process. Women and girls will have the opportunity to learn how to lead with their voices and influence, empowering them to contribute to the decision-making processes that shape their communities.
“Fostering the empowerment of girls with dreams is key to developing women leaders with vision. This event offers a platform for the next generation to discover their voices and create a lasting impact,” said Jill Upson, WVWC executive director.
Participants will meet with legislators, tour the West Virginia Culture Center and State Capitol building, visit the House and Senate galleries and participate in roundtable discussions. Lunch will be provided to those who attend.
Teachers, students, individuals and organizations may register for the free event online at wvdhhr.org/wvwc/womens_girls_day.html or by calling 304-356-2023.
