Elizabeth Taylor

Elizabeth “Betty” Mary Taylor, 97, of Morgantown, departed this life surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023.
She was born April 2, 1926, in Philadelphia, Pa., a daughter of the late Paul and Ann Fiedler.

She was a loving wife and mother and devoted her life to being a homemaker and gardener, raising flowers and growing and canning vegetables. She was a member of the Goshen Baptist Church.

She is survived by her four daughters, Rosemarie Jacobs, Joanne Taylor, Jeanette Koontz (Robert “Bo” Cummings) and Yvonne Taylor (Joe Thornton); grandchildren, Jay N. Jacobs, Bryce A. McCord (Bobbie Jo), Brianne E. McCord, Stephanie Koontz (Jeramiah Menear); and great-grandchildren, James Marple and Allison McCord.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Clinton Taylor; and siblings, Paul Fiedler, Marie Ansert and Bill Fiedler; and son-in-law, Herbert Jacobs.

The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the caregivers and staff of Sundale Nursing Home and WVU Medicine Hospice for their care and compassion.

A private family graveside service will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Hastings Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
