There are no partridges in a pear tree or six geese a-laying in the United Way of Mon and Preston Counties’ 12 Days of Giving.
In fact, there are no birds at all; instead, there are 12 $100 gift cards to local businesses up for grabs, thanks to a promotion, sponsored by Steptoe and Johnson PLLC, that will give donors a chance to win.
The 12 Days of Giving will run from today through Dec. 12, with a different local business’ gift card featured each day. To enter to win a gift card, make a donation of at least $10 by texting DAYSOFGIVING to 91999. For every $10 you give, you’ll receive one entry for that day’s prize. For example,
$20 gets you two entries; $30 gets you three.
One winner will be randomly chosen each day from that day’s donations to win the $100 gift card. Thanks to the sponsorship from Steptoe and Johnson, money donated during the promotion will go toward the 2024 United Way Campaign. This is the third year for the promotion.
“Shop small. Shop local. That’s what we’re promoting with our 12 Days of Giving fundraiser, a promotion where we raffle off several small business gift cards to United Way donors,” said Amanda Posey, director of marketing and communications for the local United Way. “We can’t thank our sponsor, Steptoe & Johnson, enough for providing the funds to purchase these cards. The promotion helps our local business community, raises money for the United Way, and gives our donors a chance to win a nice gift card. It benefits everyone involved.”

- Saturday: Sheila’s Home
- Sunday: Monroe’s
- Monday: Hoot & Howl
- Tuesday: Nonno Carlo
- Wednesday: Apothecary Ale House
- Dec. 7: Cryptid Mountain Mini Golf
- Dec. 8: Baker Cheese Company
- Dec. 9: The Lakehouse Restaurant
- Dec. 10: Edgar Rae Boutique
- Dec. 11: Apple Annie’s
- Dec. 12: Black Bear Burritos
