Women’s Club of Fairmont to host holiday tea and tour

GFWC Woman’s Club of Fairmont will host its annual Holiday House Tea and Tour from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 9.

The event will coincide with Main Street Fairmont’s Feast of the Seven Fishes. Almost every room of the clubhouse will be decorated for Christmas. Cookies, tea and coffee will be available. The cost is $10. Tickets will be sold at the door.

GFWC Woman’s Club of Fairmont is a nonprofit organization that helps the community with various projects, including its basement project, the Maple Valley Cemetery project, donated items for Tygart Valley United Way Kids Campaign, items for Pantry Plus More, Christmas stockings for Salvation Army, Rhododendron Girls State, items for Friendship Fairmont and more.

The club rents out the clubhouse, the former Thomas and Annie Fleming Mansion, for bridal showers, baby showers, memorial events, small weddings and birthday parties.

The club meets at 6 p.m. on the fourth Monday of every month at 300 First St. in Fairmont. The junior department meets at 6 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month.
