Vincent Paul Friend, 89, of Arthurdale, passed away Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023, at the Kingwood Healthcare Center.
Paul was born in St. George, on March 2, 1934, a son of the late Dana Ralph and Flossie Gladys (Loughry) Friend.
He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a foreman at Sterling Faucet in Reedsville and a shuttle car operator for Blacksville #2 Coal Mine for many years. After retiring, he worked on lawnmowers. He loved his family and the outdoors, hunting and fishing with his granddaughter and great-grandson.
Paul is survived by his wife, Maxine Iola (Liston) Friend; one daughter, Peggy Denkenberger (Mike) of Kingwood; one son, Paul J. Friend (Norma) of Dilliner, Pa.; grandchildren, Stacy Feather (Jordan) and sons, Jaxson and Erik Reynolds (BaiLee) and daughter, Alexis; and an aunt, Ruby Sanders of Loraine, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dotty Himes.
Friends and family may be received at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown from noon on Sunday, Nov. 5, until the 2 p.m. service time with Dr. Rev. David Spence officiating. Interment will follow in the Arthurdale Cemetery.
