Bernice Marie Gibson, 92 of Masontown, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at Kingwood Healthcare Center.
Bernice is the daughter of the late Clifford Earl and Mary Marie Shaffer Savage, she was born June 5, 1931, in Morgantown.
Bernice was raised Methodist. She loved to play bingo and watch any type of sports, especially LeBron James. She was a member of the Masontown Women's Club for many years.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother as well as an avid animal lover.

To her family and the community, she was a great friend.
Bernice is survived by two daughters, Karen and Art Centofanti of Masontown, and Kimberly and Kelly Robinette of Charleston; granddaughter, Lindsay and Colin Wattleworth of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; and two great-grandchildren, Hayes and Finley Wattleworth.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Kevin Soccorsi; her husband, Delmer P. Gibson, Sr.; a brother, Clifford and his wife Carolyn Savage; three sisters, Lucille Dalton, Iretta and her husband James Luzier, and Wanda and her husband Dick Ackerman.
Family and friends were received at Field Funeral Home on Monday, Oct. 2, and on Tuesday, Oct. 3. Bernice was laid to rest at Masontown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Preston County Animal Shelter, 278 Poor Farm Road, Kingwood, WV 26573.
