Village at Heritage Point donates handmade doll houses to local children’s organizations

The Village at Heritage Point, a senior living community took a heartfelt initiative aimed at bringing joy to children by donating handmade doll houses to local children’s organizations.

Wayne Stiles has been a resident at The Village at Heritage Point for six years and Glenn Snyder for five years.

Both men enjoy building dollhouses from scratch and have established a hobby doing so over the last four years, building them together.

The Village at Heritage Point strives to make available a multitude of events, activities and hobbies, allowing the residents to continue to enjoy what they love most.

The two friends had the opportunity to join staff in donating the houses they built.

The Village recognizes the importance of supporting the well-being of not only its residents, but the children within the community as well.

Village personnel have selected organizations that would benefit from such a generous donation, including The Shack Neighborhood House and MonKids. They play a very important role in brightening the imaginations of the children in the community, and the lives of the residents at The Village.

The dollhouses are built with care and attention to detail. Each house showcases the resident’s artistic skills and will provide endless joy for the children who have received them.

“It’s important because the residents enjoy working together as a team building the houses and it brings them memories. It makes me happy that we can provide this service to our residents and to see the joy on their faces while we donate the houses that they built and the joy it brought to the organizations,” said Ashley Kaminsky, Life Enrichment manager at The Village at Heritage Point.

The donation of these dollhouses is a statement of an ongoing commitment by The Village at Heritage Point to serve the community and aims to continue to foster these connections and explore further opportunities to bring joy to the residents.
