2nd Pop-Up Plaza of summer is Tuesday

Main Street Morgantown, in collaboration with Pop-Up Plaza, announced the second and final Pop-Up Plaza of the season.

The public is invited to gather, relax and immerse themselves in the artful downtown lunch-hour event.

The Pop-Up Plaza will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday at the Monongalia County Courthouse Square in downtown Morgantown.

Attendees are invited to bring lunch and enjoy live music from Aristotle Jones, interactive art-making activities suitable for all ages, yard-sized games, coffee and comfortable benches. The event aims to provide a diverse range of experiences for people of all interests and ages.

“We are thrilled to bring the Pop-Up Plaza to Morgantown, welcoming citizens to meet and create in downtown public space,” said Amy Loomis, executive director of Main Street Morgantown. “Citizens remember when live concert programs and seating made courthouse square a downtown destination. We aim to bring that positivity and optimism with Pop-Up Plaza.”

In addition to the activities, attendees can explore special “Square Deal” takeaway lunch specials from downtown businesses, available on Pop-Up Plaza’s website, http://bit.ly/popupplaza.

The Pop-Up Plaza events are a collaborative effort organized by Pop-Up Plaza and Main Street Morgantown, with the support and participation of various community organizations, including Spark! Imagination and Science Center, Morgantown Public Library and Morgantown Art Party.

The event aims to bring together citizens, local government and community leaders, fostering a sense of unity and celebration in downtown Morgantown.
