The Morgantown Police Department is investigating a double-fatal crash that occurred at approximately 3:20 a.m. May 13.
One Morgantown man and another from Maryland were killed in the accident in the Sabraton area.
The crash involved a silver Toyota Corolla and a Peterbilt tractor-trailer and happened near 755 Powell Ave.
The driver of the Toyota, Papa Yaw Acheampong of Boyds, Md., and another of the vehicle’s occupants, Antonio Darrell McDaniel, of Morgantown, were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.
The third occupant of the Toyota, Marcus Penrose, of Morgantown, was transported to J.W Ruby Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained as a result of the crash.
The driver of the truck was not injured. Police did not release his name or the condition of Penrose in time for this report.
The crash is under investigation and no details on the cause of the accident were released Monday.
