Erma Grace Heis, 92, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2023. Erma was born in Elgon on Aug. 4, 1930, a daughter of the late Edward Joseph and Ruth Alberta Abernathy Lipscomb.
Erma worked as a seamstress. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Erma is survived by her sons, Rick Heis (Tatyana), Neil Roth and James Heis (Donna), all of Morgantown; daughter, Debra Heis Payne (John) of Morgantown; sister, Carolyn Rhoades of Uniontown Ohio; a special grandson, Neil Roth and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Erma was preceded in death by her husband, John Heis.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Animal Friends of North Central West Virginia in honor of Erma.
McCulla Funeral Home has provided cremation services. A memorial service honoring Erma’s life will be held at the Shaffer Family Reunion Horse Shoe Run on Saturday, July 29.
