
Naomi Ann Wade Van Voorhis, 94, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Evergreen Assisted Living. She was born Dec. 1, 1928, in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Jesse Franklin and Ruby (Barnes) Wade.
She was a 1946 graduate of Point Marion High School, a 1950 graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in business administration and was a member of the Fort Martin United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and Order of the Eastern Star, Morgantown Chapter #35. She was a member of the Elizabeth Ludington Hagans Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. For the DAR, she served as chapter treasurer from 1983-1998, chapter regent from 1998-2004, corresponding secretary from 2004-2007, chaplain from 2007-2010 and 2013-2016, recording secretary from 2010-2013, state recording secretary from 2001-2004 and state chairman, Project Patriot 2007-2010.
In her free time, she enjoyed travelling to the Hampshire County camp, gardening and going to the beach in Florida and Ocean City, Md.
She is survived by her sons, William Van Voorhis, of Morgantown, Ken Van Voorhis and his wife Becca, of Clover, S.C., and Gary Van Voorhis and his wife Lee-Ellen, of North East, Md.; six grandchildren, Kate, Jesse, Anna, Grace, Holly and Sabrina; three great-grandchildren, Nolan, Lachlan and Genevieve; five nephews; and four nieces.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William Holbert Van Voorhis Sr.; her son, John Franklin Van Voorhis; and brothers, Jesse Franklin Wade, Thomas Dell Wade and Richard Barnes Wade.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation arrangements will be provided.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, April 3 and again from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4 with Pastor Wanda Brosky officiating.
