Rusty Allen Smeltzer, 42, of Masontown, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023, at his residence
Born Sept. 26, 1980, in Oakland, Md., Rusty was son of Russell Smeltzer, of Pennsylvania, and Joan Simpkins, of Morgantown.
In addition to his mother, Rusty is survived by his long time companion, Virginia Cottrell, and her children Macey Johnson and Hunter Bee; his two sons, Austin and Isaac; brothers, Eric and wife Terry Smetlzer, of Morgantown, and David and wife Lynsey, of Pennsylvania; his sister, Tina Smeltzer, of Pennsylvania; and his nieces and nephews.
Rusty enjoyed being in the outdoors, running in the woods, camping and four-wheeling and tinkering in his garage. He worked as a paver for Parrotta Paving.
Friends may join the family to honor Rusty’s life and legacy for visitation at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover/Morgantown, from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, March 24. There will be no funeral service, and following the visitation, the family’s request for cremation will be honored.
