M. Donald Wright, 87, passed away on March 13, 2023, in Paoli, Pa. Born in Morgantown, son of Merl D. and Anna Mary (Troph) Wright, beloved husband of Jane C. Wright (nee Clark), father of Elisabeth W. Brake (Richard), grandfather of John F. & Charles C. Brake, brother of Beth Suskind (Russ) and Peggy Krier (Gary) and uncle to nieces and nephews.
A law graduate of West Virginia University School of Law, Don joined Arthur Andersen & Co. in Pittsburgh, transferring to the Philadelphia office and becoming partner in 1971. Also, during this time, he was on the Mayor’s Small Business Tax Force and taught seminars for closely held businesses at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He left Arthur Andersen and opened his own tax and estate planning practice in 1985. Later he was joined by his daughter, where they practiced together for 30 years. For many years of his practice, he worked at the American College of Life Underwriters in Bryn Mawr, Pa.
Don was an active member of Bryn Mawr Presbyterian church for many years. He loved the beaches in Stone Harbor, N.J. and Florida, sports cars and races, his home state of West Virginia, Scotch-Irish ancestry and Scotch whiskey. There will be a private interment at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church or the West Virginia University Foundation.
