WVRC Media teaming up with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

WVRC Media stations throughout West Virginia and its listeners were able to raise $204,000 in last week’s annual radiothon with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Station personnel in Morgantown, Charleston, Clarksburg and Elkins asked listeners over two days to become Partners in Hope with St. Jude. The Memphis, Tenn.-based hospital is a world leader in treatment and research in the areas of childhood cancer and other diseases.

“I am just so proud of our on-air staff efforts and thank our loyal listeners for completely getting behind this wonderful case,” WVRC Media President George Pelletier said. “To raise over $200,000 in just two days speaks to the willingness of West Virginians to help the kids.”

WVRC Media and St. Jude have had a longstanding relationship linking loyal listeners to the work done at St. Jude.

WVRC Media operates four divisions that exist to create compelling content and to provide multiple media services for audiences and advertisers across the state of West Virginia. In addition to 33 community radio stations, the company also operates WVRC Digital, WVRC Video and the WV MetroNews Network that provides news, sports and entertainment to over 90 radio affiliates.
