Warden J. Rice, 92, of Morgantown, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023, at Madison Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born on June 24, 1930, son of the late Thomas E. and Viola M. (Bell) Rice in Bolair, Webster County.
Warden enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, proudly serving two years in the Philippines and two years at Palm Beach, Fla. He went on to work for 17 years at Sterling Faucet, Equitable Life Insurance for 19 years, American General Life and Accident Insurance for several years and retired as the District Manager of the Morgantown office.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jo Anne (Trickett) Rice, of Morgantown; brothers, Dwain (Thelma), of Morgantown, Donald (Patsy), of N. Chesterfield, Va., and Doye and (Lou), of Dinwiddie, Va.; sister, Verlene (Berton) Coakley, of Richmond, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Warden is preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Miller Rice; brothers, Warren, of Cassville, and Elisha, of Rockford, Ill.; and sister, Mabel, of Upper Glade.

Hastings Funeral Home Omega Crematory is entrusted with cremation arrangements. A memorial service will be scheduled at the Morgantown Bible Church officiated by James Cooley II with date and time announced at a later date.
