Shirley Ann Lipscomb, 75, of Westover, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023 at Mon Health Medical Center. Shirley was born on Aug. 4, 1947, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Alex Joseph and Anna Marie Petroff Martin.
Shirley was a retired cook for the Monongalia County Schools from 2008-2019. Prior to the Board of Education, beginning in 1965, she was employed at the Pajama Factory and then Morgan Shirt Factory. Shirley was an avid gardener and seamstress. She enjoyed studying the bible and attended Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witness meetings.
Shirley is survived her son, Ted Lipscomb Jr. (Betty), of Morgantown, Shelly Lipscomb, Keith Lipscomb (Marcie) and Lisa Lipscomb, all of Westover; grandchildren, Joshua Lipscomb, Travis Lipscomb, Savannah Lipscomb, Marissa Lipscomb, Brianna Bittinger and Cody Smith; and siblings, Charlie “Butch” Martin, Alex “Chick” Martin, Mary Jane Kirby and Jim Martin.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Ted James Lipscomb Sr., and two brothers, Paul Gobel and John Petroff.
Friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home, from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service time on Monday, Feb. 13, with Ronnie Barnett Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Beverly Hills Cemetery.
