
Deborah Lorraine “Debbie” Summers, 61, of Morgantown, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Morgantown on May 14, 1961, a daughter of the late Howard C. Summers and the late Beulah Murray Summers.
Survivors include her three children, Bernie Murray (Crystal), Anita Blosser (Ron) and David “J.R.” Murray (fiancé’ Sara); 10 grandchildren: including Chloe, Justin, Cody, Jenna, Tyler, Emma, Christina, Ryder, Cody E. and Thomas; a brother, Kenny Summers (Lisa); a sister, Mary Cress (Lee); many nieces and nephews; and her former daughter-in-law, Michelle Murray.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald and Dave Summers; and a nephew, David Summers, Jr.
Deb was a devoted homemaker who loved her children dearly. She enjoyed spending time with all of her family. She worked for Gabriel Brothers Warehouse, and was also a manager for Dollar General until her health no longer permitted.
She loved watching “Days of Our Lives,” wrestling, football and her favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.
Friends may join the family to honor Debbie’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover/Morgantown, from 5-8 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 11 and again from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12 officiated by Pastor Donna Dalton. Interment will follow in the Nicholson Chapel Cemetery.
