Glinda Reckart, 52, of Simpsonville, S.C., formerly of Terra Alta, passed away surrounded by her loving family as she entered eternal rest at Regency Hospital of Greenville, S.C. Glinda was the daughter of the late Larry and Debra Reckart.
Glinda will be lovingly remembered by her husband of four years, John Carmenate. She leaves behind two daughters, whom she was most proud of, Briana Bishop, of Kingwood, and Chelsea Bishop and Barry, of Wheeling; and her feline children, Abbey, Bailey, Colby and Havoc. Also left to mourn her loss is a sister, Mary Frantz and husband Bill, of Terra Alta; niece, Zoe Frantz; nephew, Zachary Frantz; and great-nephew, Elliott Frantz, who Glinda immeasurably adored. Glinda leaves behind many other relatives and many special friends.
In addition to her parents, Glinda was preceded in death by her brother, Troy Nine; maternal grandparents, Ben and Mary Ellen Wickwire; and paternal grandparents, Walter and Virginia Reckart.
She was a 1988 graduate of East Preston High School, a member of the Kingwood Fraternal order of Eagles Auxiliary #2391 and was always the life of the party anywhere she went. Glinda will be fondly remembered as the sweet, loving, kind and beautiful soul she was with a radiant smile and contagious laughter by all who knew her. Although Glinda relocated to the Carolina’s several years ago, she remained a tried-and-true West Virginia girl. She looked forward to and enjoyed each trip to West Virginia to visit family and friends. Glinda enjoyed trips to Las Vegas or Atlantic City, N.J. In most recent years, she found couponing to be an enjoyable hobby as well as raising backyard chickens.
In honor of Glinda’s final wishes, she will be cremated. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
