Grafton road accident

Emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle accident involving a box truck Tuesday morning near the Circle K on Grafton Road.

West Virginia State Police Trooper Maidens said a box truck swerved across the road, hitting the guardrail and tearing down a power pole.

The truck came to a rest straddled over the guardrail, nearly falling over the embankment.

Both passengers of the truck were able to exit the vehicle before emergency crews arrived, Maidens said, and no injuries were reported.

The trooper said workers from Mon Power were called to the scene to help remove the truck, which had become entangled in the power lines during the accident.

Clean-up at the scene caused traffic to be reduced to one lane for about an hour, but Maidens said both lanes were reopened before 2 p.m.
