The Morgantown Police Department’s Special Response Team will conduct training at vacant structures throughout Morgantown this week.
The trainings started Monday and will continue until Friday. The department said the training will take place during the day at locations on White Avenue, Richwood Avenue, University Avenue and Scott Avenue.
Community members in those areas should know there will be an increased police presence due to the training, which will include the use of tools and devices that could produce loud noises.
MPD said training personnel will take precautions to minimize any potential disruptions to those areas and to ensure the safety of the participants and properties.
