William Shaw

William “Dob” Shaw, 70, of Kingwood, Pike passed away Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022, surrounded by his family and friends after a courageous battle with a long illness. He was born Aug. 1, 1952, in Morgantown a son of the late Denzil “Jack” and Lucy Shaw.

William worked for General Paving in his earlier years and retired from Greer in 2014. He was always known as “Trucker Bill.” In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, especially to Branson, Mo. He also loved hunting, going to “our” cabin in Mount Storm, riding his Harley and watching all forms of racing.

He is survived by brothers, Denzil Shaw and wife Cathy and Larry Shaw and wife Maxine; sister, Judy Costello and husband Harvey; sisters-in-law, Donna Haseleu and husband Chuck, Rhonda Fichtner and Sherri Dalton and husband Darrin; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Glenna Mae Shaw, on Oct. 18, 2022. They had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June, 2022. He was also preced in death by his father and mother-in-law Leonard “Pete” and Dewilla Dalton Summers.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff of WV Caring for all of their care and support.

A graveside service will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9, with Pastor Donna Dalton and speaker Kathy Dalton officiating. Following the service, Dob will be laid to rest beside his wife, Glenna.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dob’s memory to Mount Pleasant Cemetery 2436 Kingwood Pike Morgantown, WV 26508.
