Nola Chambers

Nola Rae (Wiles) Chambers, 92, of Tunnelton, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, with family by her side. She was born on Aug. 11, 1930, in Tunnelton, the youngest daughter of the late Ona P. Wiles and Lenora Grace (Bolyard) Wiles.

Nola was a life-time member of the Mount View United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. She graduated from Tunnelton High School, Class of 1948. Following her graduation, she worked for Plum’s Store in Tunnelton. After her working career, she spent five years as the caregiver for her mother, who had been left paralyzed by a stroke. Following her mother’s death, she married and was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and looked forward to family reunions each summer.

Nola is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Murray and husband David; two granddaughters, Anita Murray and Shelby, of Washington, Pa., and Hannah Murray, of Fellowsville; one grandson, Mark Murray, of Tunnelton; one great-grandson, Kayden Murray, of Washington, Pa.; six sisters-in-law, Joann Stieringer, of Morgantown, Janet M. Chambers, of Tunnelton, Pat Morgan and Craig, of Laurel, Del., Delores Chambers, of Tunnelton, Dorna Chambers, of Canton, Ohio, and Jenny Chambers, of Tunnelton; two brothers-in-law, Samuel Chambers, of Akron, Ohio, and Daniel Chambers, of Morgantown; and many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her lovable cat of 12 years, Jazz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, William Paul Chambers; one brother, Arthur Wiles; two sisters, Edna Fleming and Lillian Elder; brothers-in-law, Jim Elder, Robert Chambers, Franklin Chambers, Jim Chambers, Richard Chambers and Lawrence Stieringer; and sisters-in-law, Betty Wiles Freeland, Virginia Chambers, Roberta Chambers and Janet K. Chambers.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the hospice care team from West Virginia Caring, who cared for Nola in her final days, including: D.J., Bethany, Dena, Lori and Jennifer and Chaplin Denis Lusin for providing comforting words and prayers.

Family will receive friends at Bolyard Funeral Home, from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8, and at Mount View United Methodist Church, from 11 a.m. until time of service at noon from Friday, Dec. 9, with Pastor David Murray officiating. Interment will follow at Mount View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to WV Caring, P.O. Box 760, Arthurdale, WV 26520.
