ReTails opens Christmas shop at Morgantown Mall

ReTails, a store operated by M-SNAP — Mountaineer Spay Neuter Assistance Program — is officially ringing in the holidays.

The store, which sells selectively chosen, gently used items, opened its Christmas shop this week at Morgantown Mall. In it, customers can find everything from holiday decor to Christmas tree ornaments and more.

ReTails is open from noon-7 p.m., though hours may depend on volunteer availability.

All proceeds from sales at the store benefit the mission of M-SNAP.

M-SNAP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation in Mon County. To that end, it provides vouchers for spay and neuter services, which can be redeemed at area veterinary hospitals.

According to the organization, M-SNAP issued 1,099 vouchers in 2022.

Spaying and neutering pets is the top means for reducing euthanization of unwanted, unclaimed animals in shelters. The expense of the surgery is a barrier for some pet owners — M-SNAP helps alleviate that barrier, making it possible for animals to be fixed for little to no cost.
