Clay-Battelle, Trinity football each pick up wins

HANCOCK, Md. — Zach Hall got only four touches of the football Friday night.
He made the most of them.
The Clay-Battelle running back carried the ball three times for 150 yards and scored on runs of 82- and 54-yards and he also added a 42-yard TD reception to lead the Cee-Bees to a 35-12 victory against Hancock (Md.).
Hall’s big game came when Clay-Battelle (5-2) was again without senior quarterback Carson Shriver, who is nursing a bad ankle injury.
J.C. Spears substituted at quarterback and threw two touchdowns, one to Hall and another to Braden Ponceroff.
“Zach ran really well and had a good game,” C-B head coach Ryan Wilson said. “J.C. threw the ball really well and we had a lot of kids make some big plays for us.”
Those big plays led to 27 points in the first quarter and the Cee-Bees cruised the rest of the way.
Maddox Shriver added 50 yards rushing and scored on a 26-yard run.
C-B hosts Calhoun County at 7 p.m. next Friday.
