Ruth Ellen Saturday, 90, of Morgantown, passed away unexpectedly from complications of pneumonia at the Mon Health Medical Center with her loving family by her side.
Ruth was born the daughter of Hubert and Hazel Stottlemire on Sept. 6, 1932.
Ruth started her career at Westinghouse and married the love of her life, Mike Saturday. After having three children, Ruth continued her career at Wilson Chevrolet, Richter Volkswagen, Horton Ford and Sanders Floor Covering.
Later, she began her own venture, opening Moments Bridal and Formal Wear, where she helped many young women on their journey to find the perfect dress. Ruth retired to enjoy time with her husband, children and grandchildren, which was the most joyful time for them.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Saturday (Mark Clineff); son, Michael Saturday (Fayann); daughter, Susan Umble (Kenneth); grandchildren, Jessica Fratz (Seth), Michael Andrew Saturday (Shaina), Stephanie Bartlett (Nathan), Grant Umble (Michelle) and Scott Umble (Lacey); and 10 great-grandchildren.
Ruth is also survived by her closest friend of 58 years, who was more like a sister, Elizabeth “Libby” George; her brother, Gary Stottlemire (Donna); sister-in-law, Rose Hamrick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Mike Saturday Jr.; her sister, Clara Smallwood; brothers, Donald, Raymond and Hubert Stottlemire; brother-in-law, Joseph Saturday; and sisters-in-law, Ann Komenus, Agnes Barto (Louie), Virginia Leach (Kenny) and Pauline Lipko (Eddie).
Now that Ruth has passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior, we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of Ruth’s physical life on earth, it’s the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey. Her vision is restored, her body made whole.
Rev. 21:4, He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed.
The family will receive friends at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, and again from 9 a.m. until time of services at 10 a.m. on Saturday with Pastor Junius Lewis officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the East Oak Grove Cemetery.
