Frederick Vaughn “Von” Stiefvater, 66, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022, at the Fairmont Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Fairmont.
Von was born on Sept. 2, 1955, the son of Daniel Earl and Velma A. Johnson Stiefvater, in Morgantown. He was extremely artistic and blessed with many talents.
Von was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Debra Kay Sisler Stiefvater.
Von is survived by his stepson, Ryan Sisler; three sisters, JoAnn (Norm) Rivers, of Marcellus, Mich.; Margret Sue (Marshall) Hagedorn, of Gainesville, Ga.; Patricia (Stan) Wallace, of Prescott, Ariz.; three brothers, Larry (Linda) Reed, of Morgantown, Kenneth (Odette) Reed, of Morgantown, and Daniel (Polly) Stiefvater, of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Von’s family would like to thank Diane Baldwin and staff at the Unity House Apartments in Morgantown and the staff at the Fairmont Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center for their kindness and the wonderful care they provided to Von.
The family will gather with friends at a later date for a graveside service at the Nicholson Chapel Cemetery, 1346 Summers School Road, Morgantown. The Rev. Kenneth Reed will officiate the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Von to the American Diabetes Association (diabetes.org).
