John Russell Cathreno, 58, of Bruceton Mills, passed away Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022, at his home after a long illness.
Born Oct. 14, 1963, in Morgantown, he was a son of the late John and Nina Saffron Cathreno.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda McIntosh Cathreno; two daughters, Sami Cathreno and companion Matt Wilmoth, of Fairmont, and Mandie Cathreno, of South Charleston, S.C.; two stepdaughters, Brandi McIntosh, of Granville, and Jessica Taylor and husband Jeremiah, of Masontown; his grandchildren, Sophia Wilmoth-Cathreno, Matthew Wilmoth and Brayden Cathreno; four step-grandchildren, Lily, Owen, Parker and Abby Taylor; his two siblings, Toni Moore, of Westover, and Joanne Nagy, of Mount Morris, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Jane O’Neal, and one brother, Joe Nagy.
Friends may join the family to honor John’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care 108 Holland Ave. Morgantown, WV 26501, from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 15, co-officiated by Pastors Joseph L. Adams and Nathan Barker.
