Work underway on $1.2 million project at Mountain Line hub

Mountain Line drivers are no strangers to navigating construction zones.

But not typically so close to home.

Anderson Excavating is about two weeks into a $1.2 million project that will essentially tear out and replace all the existing asphalt in and around the transit authority’s Westover hub.

Project Manager Bob Pingley said the work will be broken down to address multiple areas.

First, the asphalt in all bus travel and fueling areas will be removed and replaced with a new concrete surface.

Second, the contractor will replace the asphalt in the administrative parking area and construct a new, 20-space parking area adjacent to the administrative lot.

Lastly, the main terminal lot will be renovated, including the replacement of the existing asphalt and base layer with a new concrete surface.

Pingley said late September is the current target for project completion, weather permitting.
