Sharon Tucker

Sharon Ann “Sherry” (Jenkins) Tucker, 66, of Decatur, Ga., entered into eternal rest during her sleep on Monday, July 11, 2022.

She was born March 25, 1956, the daughter of the Late Milford C. Jenkins and Mary Joan (Mcllvenna) Jenkins.

Sherry was a 1974 graduate of Kingwood High School. She then furthered her education at WVU in Morgantown, where she started her career in nursing. She went on to receive Bachelor of Arts degrees in sociology and anthropology. She then received a Master of Arts in counseling, psychology and rehabilitation.

Sherry started her career in the mental health field in West Virginia and then moved to Georgia, where she became the executive director of the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network in Atlanta.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Randy Tucker. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother, Michael J. Jenkins (Pamela), of Albright; two nephews, Michael Kiley Jenkins (Lindsay), of Oakland, Md., and Matthew A. Jenkins (Robyn), of Pittsburgh; niece, Kara M. Jenkins Tuttle (Seth), of Bridgeport; great-nieces and nephews, Blake Jenkins, Aiden Jenkins, Annistyn Jenkins, Nora Tuttle and William Tuttle; aunt, Shirley Bolinger, of Albright; many dear cousins from West Virginia, Ohio, Minnesota, Indiana and South Dakota; and we can’t forget all her dear friends from all over the country. Sherry also leaves behind many people whose lives she touched in so many positive ways that the world is diminished without her in it.

A memorial service will be held in Atlanta at a later time.

Friends are invited to the Kingwood Funeral Home, at 1 p.m. on Sunday Aug. 21, 2022, to share memories of Sherry. The memorial services will start at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Jonathan K. Nettles officiating.

Kingwood Funeral Home is honored to serve Sherry’s family.
