Ernest H. Stankos, 78, of Clermont, Fla. and Morgantown, went to his Lord on Saturday, June 25, 2022, in Clermont Fla.
Ernie is survived by his wife, Linda; his son, Sean (Michelle); and granddaughters, Morgan and Emma Stankos. He is survived by brothers, Robert Stankos (Ida) and Joseph Stankos (Susan); and sister, Marian Turner. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Madeline Stankos; brothers, William, Thomas and Jack Stankos and Blair Messenger; and sister, Elaine Frum.
He attended Morgantown High School and West Virginia University. He was a member of the Army Reserves. Ernie was a member of the Pines CC and the Senior men’s golf association. Ernie had a long career as a senior field engineer (power general systems) with General Electric. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the lodge in Morgantown.
A celebration of life will be held at Suncrest United Methodist Church, Van Voorhis Road, Morgantown, at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9. Lunch will be provided.
