Manchin tests positive for COVID-19, says he expects ‘mild symptoms’

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin has tested positive for COVID-19,

Manchin released a brief statement Monday morning:

“This morning I tested positive for COVID-19. I am fully vaccinated and boosted and am experiencing mild symptoms. I will isolate and follow CDC guidelines as I continue to work remotely to serve West Virginians.

Manchin’s diagnosis comes at the same time as President Joe Biden is recovering from COVID. Biden was scheduled to work from isolation again Monday. He is scheduled to be back in the Oval Office on Wednesday.

Both West Virginia U.S. House members David McKinley and Carol Miller tested positive for COVID-19 last week.
