Pauline C. Everetts, 97, of Morgantown, went home to be with her Lord Friday morning, July 22, 2022, at her home.
She was born in Silica, on April 18, 1925, a daughter of the late George and Clara Sines Bender.
Pauline is survived by her husband of nearly 43 years, Donald G. Everetts; four grandchildren, Ricky and Tammy, of Cleveland, and Angelica and Christiana, of Morgantown; brother, Seabert Bender and his wife Susie, of Rock Cave; and her sister, Joyce Strader and her husband Chester, of Amherst, Ohio; her stepson, Dale Everetts, of Morgantown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Willard Peck; her son, Ricky Peck; and five siblings.
Pauline attended the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church and was a member of their choir. She came from a musically inclined family of singers and pickers. She and her husband were charter members of the Covenant Evangelical Methodist Church. She was a Rosie the Riveter in a defense plant where she was an atomic welder on airplane propellers. She always did first class work and never had one of her welds rejected.
Pauline worked for more than 10 years at the former Sterling Faucet Plant, and then Morgan Shirt Factory for 18 years. She retired early to help take care of her mother for more than four years until her
passing.
She enjoyed crocheting. She made and gave away several afghans for family and friends. She traveled extensively, enjoyed camping and loved music. She and her husband attended many Southern Gospel concerts and always celebrated their wedding anniversary at the WV State Fair.
Friends may join the family to honor Pauline’s life and legacy at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 1700 Kingwood Pike, Morgantown, from noon-9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26 and again from
10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, officiated by Pastor Ed Williamson and Pastor Stacy Chrise-Tritt. Immediately following the funeral service, Pauline will be laid to rest at the West Virginia National Cemetery.
