John D. Sisler Jr., 52, of Masontown, passed away peacefully Monday, July 4, 2022, with loving family by his side.
John was born in Morgantown to John D. Sisler Sr. and Margaret (Martin) Sisler.
John graduated from West Preston High School in 1988. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He had several jobs during his life, including an LPN, but most important, he was a stay-at-home parent to his children.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving and caring wife of 34 years, Shannon Sisler, who affectionately called him “Her Johnny Bear”; a son, Lance Sisler; a daughter, Cortnie Sisler; an older brother, Duane Sisler; a brother-in-law, Matt Ennis; an extra son, Brandon Caratello; an extra daughter, Mariah “Moe” Ervin; three special girls he really loved: Anaya and Nyala Ennis and granddaughter, Annette Caratello; his favorite in-laws, Enk and Sandy Ennis; and also his loving pets, Smokey, Leroy, Doe-Doe and Shaggy.
He was preceded in death by both paternal and maternal grandparents and his best friend, Steve Hess.
John was a type of man that helped and loved anyone in need, no matter the situation. Known for giving the best hugs, he surely will be missed.

There will be a gathering of friends to celebrate John’s life in the former Masontown Elementary School, from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, July 8.
