Two vehicle accident on Fairmont Road sends one to hospital

An early morning T-bone collision on Fairmont Road at the intersection with Little Indian Creek Road sent one person to the hospital. Monongalia County Sheriff's Department, Mon EMS and Westover VFD resopnded. The names of those involved were not available.

One person was transported to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital Wednesday morning for injuries sustained in a two-vehicle collision at an intersection in Monongalia County.

According to officials at the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department, the two vehicles collided at the intersection of Fairmont Road and Little Indian Creek Road.

Investigators believe the driver on Little Indian Creek Road failed to stop at the intersection and was struck by the other driver who was traveling northbound on Fairmont Road.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage and one vehicle was pushed into the guardrail and over a small embankment. 

The condition and identity of the victim transported to the hospital by Mon EMS is currently unavailable.

It is unclear at this time if any traffic citations or charges will be filed against the driver who failed to stop.  Deputies were still actively investigating the accident at press time.
