Betty McBee

Betty Helen McBee, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at her home with her loving family by her side.

Betty was born on Oct. 16, 1927, in Bingamon Junction, to the late Roy and Dona Harris Wilson.
Betty worked as a school teacher at Suncrest and Evansdale Elementary School. She later worked as a guidance counselor at Second Ward and Waitman Barbe Elementary School, where she always enjoyed impacting the lives of countless students over the years. Betty was a chaplain at Mon Health Medical Center. She also served her community and church family by officiating many weddings and funerals. She was a coordinator of the Lay Witness Missions and a member of the Pleasant Creek Women’s Club.

Betty was passionate about her faith and served as a pastor of the United Methodist Church: Flemington and Booth-Union Charges. She was a pillar of faith, guiding her family and friends to serve the Lord with all they had.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Patricia Shaffer (Larry), of Arthurdale, Linda Piercy (Russell), of Loveland, Ohio, and Roberta “Bo” Pratt (Curt), of North Huntingdon, Pa.; son, Paul LeRoy McBee, of Westover; special daughter, Lois DelBueno, of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren, Christina Canody, Jon Shaffer, Nicole McBee, Justin McBee, Nathan Pratt and Beth Pratt-Russum; and six great-grandchildren, Drew, Emily, Nick, Tyler, Kade and Lucia. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded by her husband, Paul L. McBee; son, Kenneth L. McBee; and her 10 siblings.

Friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home, from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, and from 12:30 p.m. until the 1:30 p.m. funeral service on Sunday July 3, with Pastor David Spence officiating. Burial will follow in Mary’s Chapel Cemetery in Philippi.
