Delores Nestor

Delores “Dee” (Harrison) Nestor, 78, of Kingwood, lost her battle with lung cancer on Sunday, May 22, 2022.

She was born Dec. 16, 1943, in White Sulphur Springs, a daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Eleanor (Kelley) Harrison.

Dee was a beloved member of the Kingwood community. She worked for the Preston County Board of Education and was a member of the Kingwood Women’s Civic Club, Friends of the Academy and Red Hats Society. She did volunteer work for the Preston County Credit Union and her beloved church, Wesley United Methodist Church. Without a doubt, her favorite role was as Meer to all of her grandchildren.
Dee is survived by her husband of 57 years, James Fredrick “Fred” Nestor; daughters, Kelley Frey and Kerry Robinson and her son-in-law Todd Robinson; niece/daughter, Julie Cullen; nieces, Anne Harrison, Heather Ladage and Lisa Johns; nephew, Brian Harrison; grandchildren, Abigail and Brady Frey, Hudson and Sydney Robinson and Vanessa Cullen; brother-in-law, William and his wife Sandra Nestor; cousins, Mike Zirbs and his wife Linda, Scotty Mendez, Becky McKinney and her husband Jimmy and Pat Zirbs and his wife Tonya.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Harrison; her father and mother-in-law, Blaine and Elisabeth “Betty” Nestor, and sister-in-law, Elaine LoBello.

Friends may call at the Kingwood Funeral Home and Crematory, 295 S. Price St., from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 27, with the Rev. Jonathan Nettles officiating. Interment of the cremains will be at Mount Vernon Memorial Cemetery in Philippi.

The family requests that the memorial donations be made in Dee’s name to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
