
Harold Blaine “Bunk” Kinsley, 90, of Morgantown, passed peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. He was born Oct. 11, 1931, in Uffington, a son to Frank and Sarah Howell Kinsley.
Bunk joined the Army in 1951, was stationed in Austria for 32 months and visited many other parts of Europe during the Korean Conflict.
He was honorably discharged in 1954 and returned home to marry Evelyn McCauley that same year. They were married for 43 years until her death in 1997.
Together they had one son, Randy Kinsley, and one daughter, Rita DeLeon and husband John, all of Morgantown.
Bunk worked as a construction electrician for the Local IBEW 425, worked for Jamison Electric for 21 years, Barnes & Brass for another 10 years and traveled for seven years. He retired in 1993.
Bunk enjoyed walking every morning with his buddies until just a few years ago, when his health would no longer permit it.
In addition to his son and daughter, he is survived by his three grandchildren, Kin Kinsley, of Texas, Michelle Kinsley and Samantha Paugh, both of Morgantown; and three great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Kinsley, Paige Paugh and Misa Paugh, all of Morgantown.
Bunk was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn; grandson, Daniel DeLeon and siblings, Frances, Mabel, Frank “Sonny” and John “Froggy.”
Visitation will be held at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home, from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, and again from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. on Friday. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at the Mount Calvary Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Monongalia County Honor Guard and WVANG, Camp Dawson.
