
Stanley Allen Lake Sr. passed away unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 28, 2022 at Mon Health Medical Center with his family by his side. Stanley was born Aug. 17, 1960, in Morgantown. He was the son of Thomas Lake and Thelma Crislip Lake.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Larry Perry Jr. (Bubby), and sister, Brenda Delgado.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elsa Lake; sons, Stanley (Theresa) Lake and Daniel Lake; his daughter Melissa (Laurence) Crislip; one grandchild, Hayley Taylor; his brother, Thomas Lake; and sister, Mary Bolyard (Bill) Crislip.
Stanley worked for WVU Medicine in the Facilities Management department for 22 years. He loved playing The Legend of Zelda for hours on end with his children, spending time with his wife, hosting cookouts with his friends and family and repairing anything and everything that he saw needed fixed. Stanley was a proud family man, a master electrician and jack-of-all-trades. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and participating in poker runs. Later in life, he could often be found at home with his beloved cat by his side.
Visitation will be held at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, from noon-2 p.m.. on Saturday, Feb. 19. The memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Henderson officiating.
