National Signing Day: Pair of Morgantown offensive linemen sign for in-state teams

MORGANTOWN — Morgantown seniors Jaiden Evans and Dyllan Haseleu each signed their letters of intent on Wednesday for in-state programs, with Evans headed to Fairmont State, while Haseleu will play at Glenville State.

Evans knew FSU would be a great fit for him the moment he stepped foot on campus.

“The facilities, coaches, campus, are great for me,” Evans said. “On my visit, they showed the discipline they have at that school at that meant a lot to me.”

Evans will be the second local athlete to sign for the Falcons’ o-line as UHS senior Corbin Turney has also committed to play for FSU. Evans looks forward to having a familiar face in practice.

“I’m excited, it adds a lot to be able to play with and against kids I know and grew up with,” Evans said of his former rival, now turned teammate. “It adds a bit of competition too knowing that we will be in the same ballpark for a position.”

As for Evans’ teammate Haseleu, he will play o-line for Glenville State as he progresses to the next level. Haseleu said he’s had his eyes on GSC since his sophomore year and enjoyed the family feel of the program.

“They have a great campus, coaching staff, I’m really excited to go there,” Haseleu said.

Glenville and Fairmont are Mountain East Conference opponents, and while Evans and Haseleu won’t matchup directly across from each other, they won’t be wearing the same uniform or lining up beside each other for the first time in a while.
