Maxine “Max” Kathleen Ash, 77, of Bruceton Mills, WV passed away on January 31, 2022 at Mon Health Medical Center. She was born Feb. 6, 1944, in Chelsea, Mass.
Max was a 30-year employee of the WVU Daily Athenaeum, where she was a receptionist and worked in the classifieds department. In her spare time, she enjoyed completing crossword and word game puzzles. She also loved sewing, crocheting and crafting. When Max wasn’t doing any of those hobbies, you could find her shopping at craft fairs, Christmas bazaars and thrift stores.
She is survived by her husband, Tim Ash; children, Elizabeth Strong, Leonard Strong and Susan Strong and fiancé Scott Horner; grandchildren, Athena Tucker and husband Evan, Nicholas Albano, Dylan Strong, Sarah Horner and Ryan Horner; and sister, Nancy Allen and her children, Gregory and Brian.
She was preceded in death by a son William J. Strong Jr.
Honoring Max’s wishes, cremation is being arranged by Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
