Betty Sue Moats, 73, of Aurora, died Jan. 12, 2022, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Betty was born on Jan. 28, 1948, in Terra Alta, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Geraldine M. (Newell) Kelly. She operated Fairlea Restaurant in Aurora for many years. After it closed, she worked at Walmart for 14 years. Betty enjoyed spending her time reading.
She is survived by a daughter, Sheila Moats; a son, Earl H. Moats Jr. and wife Marylu, all of Aurora; two sisters, Barbara Baker and Ellen Mayne and husband Clint; three brothers, John R. Kelly and wife Eva and Randy Kelly, all of Terra Alta, and Rick Kelly and wife Bev, of Reedsville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl H. Moats Sr.
There are no services scheduled at this time. Per her wishes she was cremated. The Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Moats family.
