Christmas Eve services

  • Chestnut Ridge Church, 2223 Cheat Road, Morgantown, will host three Christmas Eve services: 6 p.m. Thursday and at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Friday. There will be hot cocoa, some goodies and a Christmas photo booth in the lobby before the service. There’s plenty of seating in the auditorium, but church officials do recommend being in a seat about 10 minutes before the service begins.
For all services, there will be limited kids’ programming for children 6 months through pre-K with prior registration, but families are always welcome to sing, celebrate and attend together in the auditorium.
  • Harner Chapel United Methodist Church, 100 Luckey Lane, will celebrate its annual Charge-wide Candlelight Christmas Eve Service at 4 p.m. Friday. Pastor Steven Lightner will present the sermon, “The Wondrous Gift.” The public is invited.
  • St. Thomas à Becket Episcopal Church, 75 Old Cheat Road, Morgantown, will host a service at 5 p.m. Friday.
  • Brookhaven United Methodist Church will host a candlelight service with luminaria at 7 p.m. Friday.
