Morgantown Police arrest Maryland woman on drug charges

MORGANTOWN — Keirsten Olivia Myers, 19, of Olney, Md.,  was arrested Saturday on multiple charges after a traffic stop by Morgantown Police.

The vehicle she was driving was believed to be involved in a brandishing incident on High Street earlier that day, according to a criminal complaint.

Morgantown Police Patrolman Bernosky said the vehicle Myers was driving was impounded and a search warrant was executed for the firearm used in the incident.

During the search, officers found multiple controlled substances and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, the complaint said.

The drugs included three bags of cocaine weighing about 17.7 grams, one bag of crack cocaine weighing about 7.1 grams, about 15.2 grams of marijuana, and 29 stamps containing a white powdery substance.

According to the complaint, officers performed a field test for cocaine which yielded a positive result.

In addition, the complaint stated two digital scales, a marijuana grinder, and packaging materials consistent with street narcotic distribution were also found in the vehicle.

Myers was taken into police custody on two counts of obstructing an officer during a traffic stop and charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances.  She was released on a $75,000 bond and will face a preliminary hearing Dec. 23 in Monongalia County Magistrate Court.
