Clarksburg’s hometown boys will take the stage at The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center to get everyone ready to ring in the new year, with The Davisson Brothers Band New Year’s Celebration.

The concert is set for 8 p.m. Dec. 31, with doors opening at 7 p.m. The concert will also feature special guest openers and up-and-comers, Ben Chapman and Paul McDonald.

The Davisson Brothers Band, hailed as Rolling Stone Country “10 New Country Artists You Need to Know,” boasts classic musical foundations.

Singer Donnie Davisson commands attention with his working-class vibe, and the rest of the band — guitar player Chris Davisson and drummer Aaron Regester — gives body to a punchy throw-down sound with echoes of the Marshall Tucker Band, Skynyrd, Bon Jovi, ZZ Top, Neil Young and 38 Special. The sonics are based in old-school rock, while the messages support family, self-determination and satisfaction in a job well done.

The Davisson Brothers Band has emerged as a regular component on the festival circuit, including a performance at CMC Rocks the Hunter Festival in Australia. The group’s album “Fighter,” recorded with producer Keith Stegall (Alan Jackson, Zac Brown Band), represents its show well.

Opening the show will be  Chapman, a Nashville-based artist/songwriter who has garnered early attention for his soulful voice and country-blues guitar playing. He is heavily influenced by the sounds of the 70s, pairing groove-driven music of bands like the Allman Brothers with compelling, pithy lyrics akin to those of Guy Clark and Roger Miller, cooking up a tasty serving of country jam band ear candy.

McDonald, with poetic story-driven narratives and hooks in his music, takes the stage next.

Tickets are on sale now and are priced in three tiers  at $29, $45 and $59 in respect to proximity to the stage. There are two ways to get tickets in advance. Go online at tickets.therobinsongrand.com or purchase tickets over the phone by calling 855-773-6283 from 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday-Friday. Popcorn, candy, soft drinks, beer, wine and cocktails will be available in the concession/bar areas.
