Vivian Pugh

Vivian Ruth Pugh (Wolfe), 92, of Cheat Lake, went to her heavenly home on Nov. 19th, 2021 at 10:30 p.m. Our favorite bible verse to describe our mother is Proverbs 31, “Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.” When she passed, her home was full of loved ones, big and little. People were talking, eating and the little children were playing. She went to sleep and was at peace knowing she was loved beyond measure, just the way she made anyone feel when they entered her home.

She was born on Oct. 29, 1929, in Dellslow, the daughter of the late Charles Wolfe and Norma Edith Hagedorn Wolfe. She was a homemaker, a life time member of Mellon’s Chapel Church and attended Brookhaven United Methodist Church.

Vivian is survived by her children, Norma Christine Burkett (Pugh) and husband John, of Morgantown, Lora Sharon Clem (Pugh) and husband Richard, of Morgantown, William Dayne Pugh and wife Michele, of Morgantown, and Dana Dawn Miller (Pugh) and husband George, of Fairmont; sister, Karen Webb (Wolfe), of Tuscarora, Md.; and brother, Robert Wolfe, of Reedsville.

In addition to her parents, Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Dayne Pugh; sisters, Norma Wolfe and Shirley Cordwell (Wolfe); brothers, Wayne, Harry, Denis, Donald and Jack; and by her grandson, Josh Mercer.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Amedysis Hospice, Care Partners, MMHC Wound Clinic, Dr. Mitchell and Dr. Lobban for their loving care of our mother. A funeral service was held at Hastings Funeral Home on Tuesday, with interment taking place at Fletcher Cemetery next to her husband. Donations are encouraged to be made in Vivian’s memory to Brookhaven United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1, Dellslow, WV 26531 and/or Amedysis Hospice of Morgantown, 3596 Collins Ferry Road, Morgantown, WV 26505. Hastings Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
