Stocking Up the Blessing Box

Newsroom@DominionPost.com

Morgantown First Ward residents are asking for the community’s help stocking a Blessing Box near the corner of Dorsey  and Southern  avenues in the neighborhood.

With winter on its way, helpers want to gather  items for those who are in need.

According to a post made on the Morgantown First Ward Neighborhood Association Facebook page, the box is a popular stop for people looking for a canned goods or necessary hygiene items.

Most in-demand items — and therefore the most needed — include:

  • Tampons, sanitary pads and other female hygiene  products
  • Easy-access foods like cans with pop tops
  • Cereals and shelf stable items
  • Peanut butter, bread
  • Pasta sauce, pasta
  • Soups

Other useful items can also be added, including gloves, hats, toothpaste, etc.

As the post reads, “Anything helps … Take care of each other!”

Residents manage any overflow and restock the box regularly.
