The Wax Bar by Tracy provides professional skincare

MORGANTOWN — The Wax Bar by Tracy, in the historic Seneca Center, aims to deliver professionally selected skincare and specializes in full-body waxing.

In addition to professional waxing services, the wax bar offers body treatments, facials and cryotherapy.

The business sells several different lines of products from Eye of the Storm Candles to Bella Beloved Co. It also sells products such as body butters, scrubs and oils. The Wax Bar also offers a line of KaKu CBD oils and cream for joint pain and anxiety.

The Wax Bar by Tracy, owned by Tracy Jones, opened March 9, 2020.

“We’re a small business trying to make a big impact,” Jones said. “I believe in quality service, not quantity. I wanted to be able to focus on my clients and their needs.”

Jones is a Morgantown native and has been an esthetician for 29 years. “I couldn’t see myself doing this anywhere else.”

“There is no inspiration; it’s more of a passion,” Jones said. “It’s what I really love to do.”

She said she believes that the wax bar’s customers should always feel comfortable and confident with who they are.

Jones’ passion transformed from working at other local establishments to opening her own business.

“As a woman of color, there is a lack of representation regarding people who are in this business, especially women, and there aren’t a lot of businesses that cater specifically to our needs. So I thought why not it be me who did this,” Jones said. “I just felt like it is my calling.”

“Morgantown needs a hub that represents all cultures,” she added.

The Wax Bar by Tracy, at 709 Beechurst Ave. Suite 14 A, is open from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. The business operates by appointment only.

The Wax Bar also offers an app that customers can download onto their phones to make scheduling appointments easier.
